Collaborative Curriculum Design Tool (CCDT)
Role:Web developer and content writer; member of a four-person web project team
Description
The Collaborative Curriculum Design Tool (CCDT) is a web application that provides educators with a workspace for creating curriculum units based on the Teaching for Understanding educational framework. Users can brainstorm and enter content, collaborate with others, and create final drafts for sharing with colleagues and supervisors.
Problems to solve
The first version of the CCDT had been in use for several years; it needed new features and a complete rewrite of its now-outdated code base. Furthermore, the tool itself was visually tied to a website that was no longer actively used; the new version of the tool required a new, independent look all of its own.
